Internet services were suspended near Hirpur area near Asansol city of Bardhaman district after a Muslim hawker was beaten up by a group of youth who forced him to chant "Jai Shri Ram". The services were suspended to prevent the spread of fake rumours of Hindu-Muslim riots on social media.
