As a preventive measure internet and wired connections were shut down in the Shikrapur and Lonikalbhor Police Station limits in light of the 202nd Anniversary of the Anglo-Maratha Battle of Koregaon on 1st of January 2020. Services were shutdown to prevent any violent clashes among the crowd of approximately 8 Lakh people which had gathered at Koregoan Bhima to commemorate the battle.
